| | First workout of the season did 2x1600 at 85% my goal time was 6:04. Ran a two mile workout and got into the workout the first 1600 was a 6:04 so right on pace and the second was a little faster 5:58 felt good during the workout, felt relax!

| | Today we did our first tempo for 12 mins AT pace which was 6:16, the workout felt good I felt relax pretty much the whole time until the last 2 min when my back had a sharp pain so I slowed down a little and when we stopped I stretched it out a little then it felt a little better. But it was still a good tempo

| | Kosmin test! Very hard workout, the work out was 1 minute hard, 3 minute rest,-- 1 minute hard, 2 minute rest,-- 1 minute hard, 1 mintue rest, and the one more 1 mintue hard. I had a hard time trying to go fast but I was still a good workout. Distance was 1380 which is about 4:57 1600 time .

pm: trail run tuesday.. chuckawalla great trail. legs got tried at some points but pushed through it. I really enjoy trail runs because your legs get tried pretty early in the run and like the feeling you get when you pushed pass the triedness, almost like a race. on the way back coach was a mad man going down the hill but it was fun going fast on the way back. | | Meet at the park with Abel, Preston, Cam, Andrew, and Dallin. Our tempo was 15 min LT goal pace 5:38. Started tempo slow then quickly move into pace but slowly. At first I was keeping an eye on Cam and then passed him. Tried to catch up to preston and Andrew but couldn't because time was up but wasn't too far behind them! Tempo was probably my best one, felt relax and comfortable

Monday: don't let my back problem get in my head so I can finished the whole mile workout and hit my times.
Tuesday: PR in the mile. I know that my body can do great things, and get a 4:50 so excited to get that time!
Wednesday: I'm going to hit my goal time and by doing it smart. Don't go too fast the first lap be about 3-5 seconds slow the first lap and then push hard in the second lap!
Thursday: Do all the 200s around the same time. And to focus on the knee drive and leaning forward.
Friday: enjoy that easy day and win the root beer mile and take down the iron gut! (Coach Holt)
Saturday: do what I did last week on the LT tempo but start a little faster!

Mr.PVHS 5k (3.107 Miles) 00:17:31, Place overall: 6, Place in age division: 6 | | am: 1.5 mile warm/cool around the course to show abel where to go. During the race I tried to stay by matt because I knew he'll be able to push me and so probably 2 1/2 miles of the race I was 15 meters behind matt and then 800 left of the race matt started to gap me so I started pushing too. around 350 meters left I heard cam behind me and he passed me and I kept up with him but he was able to get me by 2 seconds. During the race I felt really comfortable, I didn't really give the race much thought just running. I got my goal time which was suppose to be 5:38 and was able to get 5:38 average so right on, I'm starting to like tempo runs their not as bad as I thought just got to clear your head and go

| | am: 4x1600 repeat day with 400 recovery. 1.5 mile warm/cool. I finally did it, finally did the whole workout and felt very comfortable and actually enjoyed the repeats. Goal time 5:48, first mile just tried to take it easy not go to fast and got 5:46, second mile tried to do the same thing but tried to push more on the third lap 5:44, third mile tried to do the same thing, I did on the first and second miles but notice the third lap is still my struggle and pushed more on the third lap 5:42, and the last and final mile for some reason people were going slow so I decided to just pushed on the last one nice and comfortable 5:36. very happy which the workout

Dogtown Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:24:23, Place overall: 29, Place in age division: 26 | | First Half Marathon and I was excited. My mommy dropped me off by byron, dave, and preston, when did were doing there warm up so i got a 3/4 mile warm up.
1-2 mile: the start was pretty good just kept it pretty chill behing andrew, dallin, and dave.
3-4 mile: making our way into hells hole, lead the pack of andrew, dallin, and dave inside hells hole, I was going pretty fast down the hills because i just let my legs and body take me down the hill. Then my feet were burning, it felt like it was on fire. so when we got out of hells hole i slowed down a lot to cool off my feet.
5-6 mile: since i slowed down dave, dallin, and andrew passed me along with other dudes. I slowly started to get my groove back going up the hill where mile 6 aid station was at, then I slowly went up the other hill aheading for mile 7.
7-8 mile: around mile 7 preston and cam caught up with me and we pushed pretty well down the hill going towards the double churches and mile 8. at some point a guy passed us so when he was leading for awhile I tried to stay behind hime until we passed mile 8.
8-10 mile: when we passed mile 8 I couldn't make my legs go any faster going up the hill, not like it's a hard hill but it felt so hard in a race. Preston passed me going up. I just tried to catch up. while we were heading back down the hill i tried to speed up to catch the next person which happen to be colton so i passed colton. heading to mile 9ish i could heard peeps. it was the dhills crew passing me going up majestic hill which is pretty beast because you're tried and it was long. I tired to go with them up but felt off, just trying to make my way up.finally when we reached the top there was a down hill going towards mile 10.
10-12 mile: passing mile 10 i passed dallen from dhills and making my way to preston. by mile 11.5 i passed preston and just wanted to be done. around this distance coach was waiting and told me to keep relax and catch the next guy.
12- 13.1 mile: When i saw the aid station for mile 12 i was soo happy, because i was almost done and just need to go faster so i can finished. at the turn around point i pretty much walked around it. going back where coach was standing, i didn't notice but he told me keep my arms straight and not swing them each was very helpful i didn't know i was swinging my arms. when i changed i felt like i was going faster which is good and then the last 200ish matt was there and help me get started on my kick to the finish.
First Half Marathon was a success, it was a pretty fun race, now next time i know what to do different and get a faster time.

The first one was way slow 1:22 and the next 4 were 1:16-1:18 and 5-9 were 1:14-1:16 and then the last one we decide to push on the last 200m and I got 1:10. Great workout. Events today were the 400m race that's way the last one was faster. Javelin and I got 61' 7"

| | Wasn't planning on doing 11.50 miles today, it was unexpected because first Byron, Abel, Matt, and were planning on doing turtle trail easy. But nope. Byron decided to do the lake to lake race, when Chandis asked him. So Abel decided to do it too, and then me and then Matt. Matt, Rachel, Mia, and Me ran leg 7 was suppose to be 5 but it was a little longer. Then later Matt, Trevor, and I ran the 9th leg which is also 5 miles but it was longer too with lots of hills. It was pretty fun

pm: Hurricance Invite didn't race today. Did my progression run after the boys 1600 race ran with abel and byron and like 1.50 with the hurricane crew. run felt long probably because of the long roads. about mile 3 we went on a adventure in a canyon area didn't go very far. when we came out we ran back to the road and start the tempo. just kept abel and byron in my sight and then i started to catch byron he wasn't feeling to good. so at the intermediate school i passed byron and just tried to catch abel. abel stopped at the restroom at the park and i ended a the turn towards the park. tempo was good probably my best progression run felt very comfortable

3200 race was in the fast heat. the race was pretty good, felt like i pushed hard but i know that i could've done better. just need to stay relax like how i do in my tempo runs. can't wait to race again!

pm: since tomorrow a meet we did something different today we did a 2 mile warmup and came back and ran 4 laps on the track but jog the curves and sprinted the straights, then after 5 hill sprints on the xc course, finished off with 2 mile cool. didn't get swoll today, back was bugging. pm: jv meet at snow canyon the events i did were the 1600m, 800, and 4x400. I did a 2 mile warm up then got ready to race, the race was okay i know i could've done better but my legs just felt like poop. don't know my time. one mile cooled down then waited around for the 800, uncle drew was worry about warm up and we warmed up too early another mile, we waited at least 45 min. (never trust a redhead). 800 my legs felt a little better, during the race the first lap was slow and i tried to pick it up.. i felt fast but i don't know. then cooled down a little and just waited again for the 4x400 and when that came around, warmed up around the field with a few striders to get the legs moving again. this time my legs felt better. the 4x400 had 3 guys and two girls team. my team took 2nd lose to uncle drew crew.

pm: was expecting miles but that changed because of the wind, so coach thought it was time to DTF. so the workout was 8.5 miles w/4x(2min fartlek, 1 min cool, 1 min fartlek, 30 sec cool, 30 sec fartlek, 2 min cool) the workout of pretty good kept a good pace the first three sets but then after the third set my back was giving me pain so I backed off a little but still gave it a good push. Felt great, now I need to try to apply this to races so im excited to race the 3200 this weeked (Green Springs- Triumph 11)

race day 3200m. me and jake were the fastest in our heat. so i wanted to get out fast and just be were i should be. the gun with off and i went right the front and just ran, wasn"t even thinking until going into the third lap and crossing at 3:54 and than i started thinking i was going too fast but i shouldnt have let that bother me because i was really focus and comfortable but next time i'll do better and just stay in the zone the whole race.
